2011年7月日本を再び訪れた。福島の惨事のわずか数カ月後のことである。この作品はその旅の間に書かれ、日本の友達に捧げられている。
In July 2011 I went back to Japan, just a few months after the disaster in Fukushima. I wrote this piece during that trip. It is dedicated to my Japanese friends.

Jean-Luc Hervé
ジャン＝リュック エルヴェ

Jean-Luc Hervé was born in 1960. He studied composition at the conservatoire de Paris with Gérard Grisey. In 1997 he received the "Goffredo Petrassi" prize for his composition Ciels for orchestra. He received a fellowship from the DAAD in Berlin (2003). The profound effect of a residence at Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto have helped to shape Hervé's compositional outlook. He founded the group Biotop(e) with Thierry Blondeau and Oliver Schneller in 2004. His works have been performed by ensembles such as Instant Donné, Court-Circuit, Ensemble Intercontemporain, 2E2M, Contrechamps, KNM Berlin, Musik Fabrik. He is currently a teacher of composition at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt. http://www.jeanlucherve.com

Une Sérénade timide pour bien dormir
よく眠るための内気なセレナード

震災で愛する家族や住み慣れた場所を突如奪われた多くの人々の中には、その後不眠に悩まされた方が多かったと聞きます。それでなくともストレスや不安には事欠かない現代社会に生きる人たちのために…。おやすみなさい。

(A timid Serenade for sleeping well)
I learned that a lot of survivors from the disaster on March 11th, who had suddenly lost their loving family or dear old homes, were later suffered from insomnia. Even without that many people live in stressful, uneasy modern society all these years. This piece is for both people. Good night.

夏田 昌和
Masakazu Natsuda

1968年生まれ。東京芸術大学大学院修了後、パリ国立高等音楽院にて作曲をグリゼイ、指揮をベローに学ぶ。出光音楽賞や芥川作曲賞他を受賞。フランス文化省やサントリー音楽財団などより委嘱された作品は、ベルリンやニューヨーク、パリ、アムステルダムといった世界各地で広く演奏されている。指揮者としても数多くの現代作品の紹介や初演に携わってきた。

Born in 1968, Masakazu NATSUDA finished his postgraduate course at the Tokyo University of the Arts. Later he studied composition with G. Grisey and conducting with J.-S. Béreau at the Conservatory of Paris. He has received numerous awards such as Idemitsu Music Prize and Akutagawa Composition Prize. His commissioned works include ones for the French Ministry of Culture and for Suntory Music Foundation. His music has been performed in many cities such as Berlin, New York, Paris, Amsterdam, everywhere in the world. He is also active as a conductor to introduce new music to the public.
