水玉とは、小さな細胞から宇宙の惑星、卵、眼球、涙、愛、命、心、魂etc...。私は音で模様や造形を描くことを追求してきました。１つ１つの音の組み合わせが導く、様々な色や感触を、聴いて下さる各々に感じ取っていただければ嬉しいです。

Dots imply everything from from a cell to a planet, eggs, eye balls, tears, love, life, mind, spirit…. I seek for a way to depict patterns or to sculpturally shape musical tones. I would be pleased if you could perceive the various colors and nuances among the different combinations of notes played by the flute and piano.

BIOGRAPHY

山根明季子
Akiko Yamane

1982年大阪生まれ。音で模様をデザインするコンセプトで主にアコースティックな楽器編成で作曲をしている。京都市立芸術大学卒業、同大学院修了。ブレーメン芸術大学派遣留学。日本音楽コンクール第１位、芥川作曲賞受賞など。これまでにNHK交響楽団、読売日本交響楽団などのオーケストラ、また国内外のアンサンブル、演奏家に作品を提供、演奏されている。

Born in 1982, Akiko Yamane has studied at Kyoto City University of Arts and at Hochschule fuer Kuenste Bremen. Her works have won numerous awards including the Takefu Composition Award (2005) and the Akutagawa Prize (2010). Her pieces have been performed by a various ensembles and artists such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Ensemble Phoenix Basel and Harrie Starreveld.

The Unexpectedly Retarded Tuna

次のポエムから発想を得た作品。
『かつてマグロがいた。
信じられないほどに鈍かった。』

The piece comes with a little poem:
"There was once a tuna
That was unexpectedly retarded."

Sasha Zamler-Carhart
サーシャ・ザムラー=カーハート

1975年フランス生まれ。カリフォルニア、オランダで学ぶ。2010年に、アッシジの聖フランチェスコを題材とした自作オペラはニューヨークで12回上演された。バレエと聖書に基づくドラマ作品はフランスで今年上演予定。ハーグ王立音楽院にて中世の音楽、ラテン音楽を5年教える。中世声楽を専門とするアスコリ・アンサンブルを組織する。http://sasha.zamler-carhart.com/

Sasha Zamler-Carhart (1975) was born in France and educated in California, England and Holland. His interests include the Middle Ages, theology, agriculture and ethno-musicology. His works are regularly performed in Europe and the US. His last opera, on St Francis of Assisi, was performed 12 times in New York in 2010. A new ballet and a biblical drama will be premiered in France this year. He taught medieval music and Latin for five years at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Netherlands, and founded the Ascoli Ensemble, a medieval vocal ensemble. http://sasha.zamler-carhart.com/
